VILLAGE AT HIGHLAND HAPPENING STREET FAIR

More than a dozen volunteers joined Joe Jones, our Village's Executive Director, at sun drenched Highland Park early on Sunday, August 10. The annual street party, known as the Highland Happening, attracted hundreds include at over a dozen Village members.  During a brief rainstorm that interrupted the fun for about ten minutes, we had our members pose for a picture.

VILLAGE ON A PRIVATE TOUR TO STATE'S EMERGENCY COMMAND CENTER HEADQUARTERS

On July 24, twenty Village members and volunteers enjoyed a private tour of one high-tech command State Emergency Command Center.  We were amazed by the extensive monitoring of state resources and the state's ability to coordinate with the federal, municipal, and private resources.  [insert story here]

OUR FIRST AND BEST FISHING TOURNEY

Fishing_Tri_p_573179972.jpegSam Brown was one of fourteen of our members who claim to have caught the largest fish at our Fishing outing on Lake Owen on May 24.  Village management has agreed to express no opinion on this matter, but our Executive Director has agreed that "the event was great fun and the post-event cookout was, perhaps, even better."
